This town garden in Lewes has undergone a remarkable transformation with Andy Sturgeon Design. Originally a neatly mown lawn edged by standard flower beds, it now boasts a series of distinct sections— an inviting seating area on the patio surrounded by scent and colour leads down to a large fire bowl. Two stone feature walls cladded in knapped flint, skillfully made by The Flint Wall Company and a statement sculpture pot bring modern structure and focal points to the space, anchoring planting schemes and defining zones. It was completed in Spring 2025.

The dining terrace was made using Roma clay pavers from London Stone, which lends a classic pale red, warmth to the space.

To link with the dining terrace the same traditional dutch clay pavers were then used, arranged in a grid pattern, to form stepping stones towards the rear of the garden.

What was once a plain and predictable garden has become a vibrant, engaging retreat full of character and charm.
